CANADIAN ARMY RESERVES

The Army Reserve is the part-time component of the Canadian Army. It generates full-time capabilities from part-time service, at home and abroad. Reservists can choose to deploy based on their particular circumstances and can serve Canada from their hometown. As an integral part of the Army, Reservists benefit from its unique work experience, sense of belonging and camaraderie.

The work, life experience and leadership skills they acquire are highly valued by civilian employers. The Army guarantees four summers of full-time summer employment to new recruits, which is focused on training them to become fully qualified leaders at the end of their four years. The varied life experience that Reservists bring to the Army are an important part of its success on operations. Apply Now | Canadian Armed Forces

Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) works collaboratively with partners to improve access to high quality services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis. Our vision is to support and empower Indigenous peoples to independently deliver services and address the socio-economic conditions in their communities. Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) has been mandated to create systemic change in how the federal government delivers services to Indigenous peoples and to transfer the design, planning, management and delivery of these services to Indigenous control. This will be achieved by promoting consistency and quality, improving accountability to Indigenous peoples, taking a distinctions-based approach in the delivery of services, and developing partnership models.

We have five key priority areas: improving health outcomes, quality education, children and families together, reliable infrastructure and a new fiscal relationship.

The Nunavik Police Service has an essential role in Nunavik communities of serving and protecting citizens by participating in community activities, preventing and investigating crimes, responding to emergency calls, promoting road safety and testifying in court. The community involvement aspect of a police officer’s duties often gets overlooked. Many officers are active in community projects and activities. Their public service roles include speaking at schools and to community officials. They educate citizens on how to avoid dangerous situations and how to handle emergencies. Other forms of community involvement include drug prevention and education and driver safety programs. These duties help create a better rapport between the NPS and citizens.
